Research Conference: 15 June - 17 June 2015 B-1000 Brussels A Belgian Monuments Man and his Impact on the Preservation of Cultural Heritage The Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage (KIK-IRPA) organizes an international symposium in honour of its founder and first director Paul Coremans (1908-1965). Paul B. Coremans was born in Borgerhout, Belgium in 1908. Brussels in 1932, he embarked on a successful career as an art conservator. In addition to creating a photographic record of Belgium's cultural heritage, As a result of his service as a Monuments Man, Coremans published a handbook entitled, La protection Paul Bernard Joseph Marie Coremans (29 April 1908 11 June 1965) was a Belgian scientist who advanced the fields of cultural heritage management and cultural heritage curation. He was the founder and first director of the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage. An international symposium in honour of Coremans on 15 17 June 2015.
